Our Forrest Riesling grapes are grown on two distinctly different sites. The Wairau River Valley; gravel rich, free draining and devigourating soil profile, giving citrus flavours, fine acidity, low pH and most interestingly an amazing minerality. Our Southern Valleys vineyard, on geologically older soil of crushed rock mixed with a portion of clay, gives a much more exotic fruit flavour profile – stone fruit, citrus, spice and a distinctive “biscuity” minerality.

Grapes were machine harvested in the cool of the morning, then cold settled and cool fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine was blended and finished before bottling in spring.
