John's connection to the stony valley floor of the Marlborough region where he grew up is reflected in the brand names of the wine produced for Laithwaites Wine. The wines John now produces recalls the aromas of wet stone in the rivers where he played as a child.

Forrest Wines has been making globally exclusive wines for Laithwaites for a number of years under the label 'Stonewall' and has recently added a hand selected, ultra-premium Sauvignon Blanc crafted for Laithwaites under the 'Field of Stones' label.
